{"id":27,"date":"2015-01-29T19:58:56","date_gmt":"2015-01-29T19:58:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/e01264.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/wpmu\/?p=27"},"modified":"2015-01-29T20:50:16","modified_gmt":"2015-01-29T20:50:16","slug":"12015-notes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/EffectiveInstruction.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/?p=27","title":{"rendered":"1\/20\/15 Notes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following summary from the 1\/20\/15 Effective Instruction Committee Meeting has also been emailed to all SGM pilot participants and posted on the district\u2019s Instruction Blog at <a href=\"http:\/\/instruction.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/wpmu\/2015\/01\/29\/effective-instruction-committee-update\/\">http:\/\/instruction.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/wpmu\/2015\/01\/29\/effective-instruction-committee-update\/<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The committee determined that mid-course or mid-year modifications to strategies and action steps should be a routine part of the SGM process.<\/li>\n<li>Modifications to the actual goal statement must be discussed with an educator&#8217;s evaluator and approved by district office.\u00a0 This review procedure will be used to help monitor how often modifications to goals are needed and under what circumstances they appear to be warranted.\u00a0 Data from these requests will be used to guide future decisions in this area.<\/li>\n<li>The committee has not yet finalized guidance on exclusionary considerations- such as meeting a minimum attendance threshold.\u00a0Guidance in this area is expected to finalized during the committee meeting on 2\/19\/15.<\/li>\n<li>Following a review of information from our\u00a0SGM pilot,\u00a0and after many discussions and a review of current practices nationwide, the Effective Instruction Committee settled on the following rating system for the purpose of the SGM pilot.\u00a0 The rating system will be reviewed at the end of May to determine if changes need to be considered for 2015-16.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"138\"><strong>Unsatisfactory<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"138\"><strong>Basic<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"138\"><strong>Proficient<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"138\"><strong>Distinguished\/ Exemplary<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"138\">Less than 50% met growth goal<\/td>\n<td width=\"138\">50-69.9% met growth goal<\/td>\n<td width=\"138\">70-89.9% met growth goal<\/td>\n<td width=\"138\">90-100% met growth goal<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please don\u2019t hesitate to contact me, or any member of the E.I.
